Jeff Madoff is the founder of Madoff Productions and has a laundry list of accomplishments that back up his business experience and general knowledge. Anyone who gets the chance to hear more about him will be impressed.

Jeff’s Background

Jeff’s company has worked with Victoria’s Secret, Ralph Lauren, and the American Academy of Dramatic Arts and Harvard University.

In short, Jeff and his company do a wide range of things for a number of different clients. And, he still makes time to teach a course called Creative Careers: Making a living with your ideas.

As an instructor, Jeff works at Parsons, which is the new school for design in New York City. Alongside that, he’s also working on producing his first play about the life of rock and roll Hall of Fame legend, Lloyd Price.

On top of all this, he’s also a husband and a father.

As you can imagine, every aspect of Jeff’s life and career are important to him. In his work, though, he had to go from a point of giving people what they wanted to a point of actually looking deeper so that he could give them what they needed.

Empowering Clients Through Communication

When Jeff needs to understand the core requirements of a project and, most of all, what a client really needs from him, he utilizes his communication skills.

“In the case of my work, that means asking the right questions.”

He explains that it’s not so much about giving them or not giving them what they asked for, but it’s more about making sure that their needs are being communicated to him clearly.

“I think a lot of times people aren’t sure or clear about what they are asking for, so it’s up to me to dig deeper, getting that out of them and trying to understand what they’re looking for now.”

Needless to say, some clients get surprised when they start a product with Jeff and he ends up asking them the questions right out of the gate. However, it’s critical to his workflow that the lines of communication are open and clear from the beginning.

How Jeff Markets Using Stories

Jeff has always been entranced by stories, ever since he was a child. While his grandfather passed away when he was only seven years old, he vividly remembers sitting on his lap and patiently awaiting a new story each time he visited.

His grandfather’s stories had a profound impact on him as they helped him in not only connecting to his grandfather but also to something much larger. “I think if we look at anything in terms of storytelling — whether that’s music, painting, dance, theater, movies…that emotional bond when it’s done connects the audience to it.”

Today, Jeff is a very successful storyteller in his own right and uses the power of communication and storytelling to help build brands and connect people to companies around the world.

Through his work, he has traveled the globe and been involved in countless projects that have opened his eyes to new horizons.
